Counseling for Hope and Change uses the bio-psycho-social model of help.  Simply put, you are complicated: like three interlocking circles, your physical makeup intersects with your personality and your social environment to make you the unique person you are.   As we work together in a holistic way, all of these elements come into play.

WHAT I DO

As a licensed clinical social worker, I help alleviate emotional pain including anxiety and depression and help you with life issues and  behavioral difficulties.

I help you avoid more serious problems by getting current ones under control.

I help you find information and mobilize resources to dispel misconceptions and expand choices.
I encourage and support your emotional well-being and help you to carry out an individualized plan to produce change.

I may help you to improve relationships, break a negative behavior pattern, gain understanding and personal growth, or improve your life in whatever direction you wish.

Above all, I listen.

METHODS

My approach is based on building on your strengths and resilience.

I use an eclectic blend of therapies depending on your needs, goals and coping style. This  may include cognitive behavioral therapy, short-term solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, supportive counseling, education, and various stress reduction methods.

Establishing rapport between client and therapist is important to the therapy's success. You need to become comfortable with me and trust that I can help.

I enjoy working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and with adults of any age.

Our sessions are private and confidential.  Our therapeutic relationship is collaborative.

THERAPY FEES

I am a provider with Cigna, Empire Blue Cross/Shield and Medicare.

Private pay fees range from $70 an hour for individual therapy sessions to $110 for couple sessions. Cash, check or Venmo accepted.
